Iran’s President, EBRAHIM RAISI has been declared dead after his helicopter crashed in a mountainous northwestern region.

The governor of Iran's East Azerbaijan province, the country's foreign minister, other officials and bodyguards were also travelling in the helicopter.

A cabinet statement has said the Iranian government will continue to operate "without the slightest disruption".
