The Lagos state Government said it had issued a stop-work order against illegal projects at waterfronts and prosecuted six people for illegal operations.

The Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, YACOOB ALEBIOSU, disclosed this in Alausa, Ikeja while presenting the ministry’s scorecard to commemorate the first year of the second term in office of Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU.

He said compliance enforcement exercise was also carried out on illegal dredging/reclamation/shoreline extension at Banana Island by a team of officers from the ministry in conjunction with the Marine Police.

ALEBIOSU also said three locally-fabricated dredging machines operating without obtaining due permit were confiscated.
