The House of Representatives has passed a resolution to investigate the procurement process in the award of the contract of the 15 trillion naira Lagos-Calabar coastal road.

The motion was moved by Honourable AUSTIN ACHADO as a matter of urgent national importance.

According to him, the 2007 Procurement Act was violated and that certain approvals by the National Assembly as required by the law were not given.

The House therefore asked the ministers of works, finance, and justice to provide the National Assembly copies of the documents for award of the contract.
