The House of Representatives has directed the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission to suspend the implementation of the new incremental tariff on Band A customers.
The lower chamber agreed upon this at the house resolution during a plenary session.
The resolution followed the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance by a member of the House, KAMA NKEMKANMA.
He noted that the motion aims to restore public trust, protect consumer rights, and ensure regulatory accountability in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
Following the adoption of the motion, the House resolved to set up a special committee to organise a well-structured hearing on the price regulation of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
