President BOLA TINUBU has been scheduled to declare open a national summit on justice organized by the Federal Ministry of Justice to address critical challenges plaguing the nation’s justice sector.
Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, LATEEF FAGBEMI (SAN) made the announcement in Abuja.
FAGBEMI said the summit is intended to enable “the much-needed reforms that would make justice more accessible to all Nigerians.”
According to the AGF, the national summit, scheduled for between April 24 and 25 presents a unique opportunity to collectively tackle the pressing issues hindering the efficient, fair, and people-centered delivery of justice in our nation.
He said the adoption of the legislation would form the fulcrum of the National Summit on Justice being organised in collaboration with the Nigerian Bar Association and the National Judicial Council.
FAGBEMI noted that at the summit, the National Policy on Justice from 2024 to 2028 would be reviewed and adopted.
A former Chief Justice of Kenya, WILLY MUTUNGA, would deliver the summit’s keynote address.
