The Federal Government has announced that it had made financial provision to support two million women in agribusiness activities across the country.
The Executive Secretary of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), PAUL IKONNE, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja.
It announced this just as the first lady, OLUREMI TINUBU, presented bank drafts of 10 million naira each to the wives of the governors to support women and youth farmers to produce food and earn incomes.
IKONNE said the Federal Government recognises the pivotal role that agriculture and agribusiness activities play in achieving sustainable development and ensuring food sufficiency.
She therefore stressed that the initiative was a 2-in-1 programme to support 20 women farmers per state with the sum of 500,000 naira each.
