NLC Protest: Police Warn Against Economic Disturbance In Lagos

The police authorities in Lagos State have warned against grounding economic activities ahead of the planned protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, ADEGOKE FAYOADE, said the command will not tolerate the disruption of commercial activities during the planned protest in the state.

FAYOADE’s warning was contained in a statement by the Lagos police spokesman, BENJAMIN HUNDEYIN.

According to HUNDEYIN, protesters who infringe on the rights of other Nigerians or who try to impede the free flow of traffic will be punished.

He said the Lagos State Police Command will ensure that necessary measures are put in place for the safety of the lives and property of Lagosians.

He also stressed that nothing would hinder the free flow of traffic or a peaceful environment to let residents carry out their lawful duties.

HUNDEYIN therefore called on Lagos residents to proceed with their lawful duties without fear of harassment, adding that security assets have been deployed for safety.
