Vice President KASHIM SHETTIMA has urged religious leaders to be voices of reason and strive to promote tolerance among Nigerians.
Vice President SHETTIMA made the call at the 38th National Maulud celebration of Sheikh IBRAHIM NIASS, held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
According to him, religious leaders and their followers in the country should always engage in tangible efforts to understand one another.
He noted that tolerance and collaboration are important in transforming Nigeria into a welcoming home and a nation of opportunities for all.
He also urged leaders to renew their commitment to the service of humanity and never take the citizens for granted.
The Vice President added that leaders must be driven by a profound sense of duty as they strive to promote the welfare of the people they serve.
