The Presidency has said President BOLA TINUBU has no plan to move the Federal Capital Territory to Lagos, contrary to speculation in some quarters.
The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, BAYO ONANUGA, said this in a statement following a rumour that surfaced on social media that the President plans to move the FCT to Lagos State after the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and some departments under the Central Bank of Nigeria moved their offices to Lagos.
According to ONANUGA, those peddling rumour are dishonest, ethnic, and regional champions, trying to draw attention to themselves.
He also claimed that those pushing the campaign of falsehood are playing dangerous politics to pitch the North against the South.
The Presidential spokesman maintained that Abuja has come to stay as it is backed by law.
