Minister of Education, Professor TAHIR MAMMAN said the ministry will work within the ambits of the law to facilitate the full implementation of the presidential directive on the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS) as it affects tertiary institutions in the country.

Prof. MAMMAN expressed the commitment during a meeting with the leadership of the Committee of Provosts of Colleges of Education in Abuja.

The minister also promised a consistent and positive interface with the committee to ensure industrial peace and harmony in the nation’s Colleges of Education.

On his part, the Minister of State for Education, Dr YUSUF SUNUNU commended the positive attitude of the leadership of the Colleges of Education.

Dr SUNUNU said that the Ministry would reciprocate the gesture to ensure a harmonious working relationship with all Colleges of Education nationwide.

He also called on the leadership of the Colleges of Education and relevant stakeholders to close ranks with the Ministry to ensure improved enrolment of students into the colleges.

According to him, this would guarantee a steady supply of qualified teachers at the basic level of the country’s educational system.
