The Federal Government has restated that it is still awaiting the outcome of a forensic investigation ordered to ascertain the cause of the explosion.

Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake, disclosed this in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital when he led the government delegation to the scene of the blast for an on-the-spot assessment.

ALAKE assured Nigerians that the Federal Government would address the challenges from the root, stating the government’s resolve to await the outcome of the investigations before making a definite pronouncement.

He, therefore, urged the public to allow security agencies to perform their duties, adding that culprits of the act will be brought to book. 

The Minister also reiterated the government’s determination to end the influx of illegal miners in the country.
