The Federal Government says it will develop an app for applications into the student loan scheme.
The Executive Secretary of the Student Loan Scheme Board, AKINTUNDE SAWYER revealed this after the board met with President BOLA TINUBU in Abuja.
SAWYER said the move is to ensure zero human intervention in the scheme which is expected to start this year.
According to him, applicants will access the loan scheme through an application that will require their national identity card and their Bank Verification Number (BVN).
He explained that the government was keen to ensure that young Nigerians do not fail to acquire tertiary education just because of a lack of funds to continue their studies.
SAWYER also said that the school fees for successful applicants would be transferred directly to their institutions.
