NIMC to launch app for Diaspora NIN registration February

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has finalised plans to launch a user-friendly self-service application next month.

The commission said the plans would allow Nigerians in the diaspora to seamlessly enrol for their National Identity Number (NIN) through a user-friendly self-service application.

This welcome initiative was revealed during a strategic meeting at the office of the Chairperson of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, ABIKE DABIRI-EREWA, where the Director-General of NIMC, ABISOYE COKER-ODUSOTE paid a courtesy visit and shared insights into the upcoming self-service application.

According to COKER-ODUSOTE, the application promises a contactless and seamless experience for Nigerians in the diaspora seeking to obtain their NINs.

She also revealed that NIMC will set up a Diaspora Focal Point Desk to ensure swift resolution of issues within 24 hours.

On her part, DABIRI-EREWA expressed gratitude to the NIMC delegation for the innovative solution.

She highlighted the significance of the new system, emphasising its capability to easily link NIN with international passports for Nigerians residing outside the country.
