The chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) ABDULRAHMAN ABDULRAZAQ has called for a thorough probe of the Ibadan explosion that killed many and rendered several others homeless on Tuesday night.

ABDULRAZAQ who is also the Kwara State governor called for objective and thorough investigation to forestall similar reoccurrence.

According to him, the calls for an objective probe are to unravel what truly happened to forestall a repeat of such a traumatic incident.

He however commended the prompt response of Governor SEYI MAKINDE to the devastating and sudden instance.

He added that the incident again underlines the need for operators to adopt global best practices in mining operations and to always prioritise safety.
