The Nigerian Army has promised to redouble efforts in tackling insecurity and promised to be unwavering in its defence of democracy and the rule of law.
Speaking during the Nigerian Army Finance Corps’ West African Social Activities, in Apapa, Lagos, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant-General TAOREED LAGBAJA revealed President BOLA TINUBU’s unwavering support and interest in the welfare of Army personnel.
The COAS emphasised that improved welfare of officers, soldiers, and their families as well as their accommodation across barracks and cantonment, would be his priority this year.
He also stressed that the Army would continue to invest in programmes and initiatives to enhance the well-being of troops, irrespective of the belt-tightening measures that government policies might require.
Describing welfare as the number one pillar upon which sound administration rests in his command philosophy, the COAS reassured troops that their welfare tops his agenda for the Army.
General LAGBAJA urged the troops to be on the lookout, as more efforts to improve their accommodation across barracks and cantonments would become visible in the new year.
