The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has urged all employers of labour to submit their yearly tax returns on or before the stipulated deadline of January 31, 2024, in accordance with applicable tax legislation.

LIRS Executive Chairman, AYODELE SUBAIR, stated this in a statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications of LIRS, MONSURAT AMASA, yesterday.

According to the LIRS executive chairman, all businesses, and employers of labour residents within the state must file their yearly income tax returns on or before January 31, 2024, as failure to comply with the directive would attract penalties as well as other statutory sanctions.

SUBAIR, urged businesses and employers to leverage the e-tax portal for filing, citing it is user-friendly, convenient, and secure.

He emphasised that the taxpayer ID is a mandatory requirement for all employers to file their yearly income tax returns on the e-Tax portal.
