A former Secretary General of the Commonwealth, EMEKA ANYAOKU, has called on the federal government to devote more efforts to tackling increasing cases of killings across the country.
ANYAOKU said this in Anambra state during a Summit and Award ceremony.
According to him, the ugly trend had continued due to a lack of arrests and subsequent prosecution of perpetrators of the wicked acts.
He called on the government to deploy forces to apprehend and punish those behind the killings to serve as a deterrent to others.
ANYAOKU also charged the federal government to work harder to meet up with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization recommendation of 26 per cent for education.
