The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on has extended the deadline for companies to submit their annual returns from January 1 to April 1, 2024.

The CAC in a statement said the extension became necessary due to glitches presently experienced on the Company Registration Portal and in deference to the Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises sector.

It added that this is coming further to its earlier notice on Thursday, November 2, 2023, informing the General Public that it shall commence the full application of the penalties against Companies and each of their Directors or Officers for failures to file annual returns.

The commission said companies, their directors and officers should note that it shall henceforth proceed against directors and officers of struck-off companies for recovery of undischarged penalties against them.
