President BOLA TINUBU has approved the reintroduction of the school feeding programme across Nigeria to address the challenges of out-of-school children.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Professor TAHIR MAMMAN, during a one-day retreat on quick wins in the middle Ministerial deliverables from 2023 to 2027.
Prof. MAMMAN said President TINUBU gave the directive that the school feeding programme be taken off the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and returned to the Ministry of Education.
The Federal Government had, however, said in November that the soon-to-be revived National Home Grown School Feeding Programme will cater for over 10 million pupils across the country.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on the school feeding programme, Dr YETUNDE ADENIJI.
According to her, the school feeding programme would ensure that no child in public school was left behind.
