The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), AHMED AUDI, has ordered Zonal Commanders and Commandants in charge of all the 36 state commands and Federal Capital Territory to redouble efforts in ensuring hitch-free yuletide celebration.
AUDI gave the order in a statement signed by the NSCDC spokesperson, BABAWALE AFOLABI in Abuja.
Addressing his officers, he noted that proper checks and accountability must be enforced in a hierarchical order.
According to him, law and order must be maintained in synergy with sister agencies, adding that all efforts must be made in the protection of critical national assets and Infrastructure.
While surveillance is to be redoubled before and after the Yuletide, he also directed increased vehicular and foot patrols in all the 774 Local Government Areas across the federation to ensure the physical security of officers and men of the Corps.
He ordered that there should be searchlights on oil and power installations, railways, roads, and bridges as well as schools to prevent them from being vandalized and/or attacked by criminal elements.
