The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has said it has so far captured the data of over six million residents of the state.
LASRRA General Manager, BILIKIS ADEBIYI-ABIOLA, who spoke with newsmen in her office advised those who have registered to get the updated version of the card and urged those yet to be captured to do so at the nearest local government offices close to them at no cost.
ADEBIYI-ABIOLA, who recalled the reasons why LASRRA was created, emphasized the significance of effective and realistic planning for the provision of social services and amenities for the Lagos residents.
She urged residents to pick up their cards once they have been sent an SMS message that the LAG-ID card has been produced and is ready for collection at their various Local Council Development Areas.
She also advised residents to check for the status of their registration and LAG-ID card by dialling the short USSD code that has just been generated by the Agency which is *3478*641# which should be sent via the phone number used for registration.
She added that for anyone to qualify to register as a resident, the person must present his/her permanent voter’s card and any means of identity and must reside in Lagos.
