Federal Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education have been taken off from the Integrated Personnel Payment System (IPPIS).

The approval for the exemption was given by the Federal Executive Council at its meeting at the Presidential Villa Abuja.

The Minister of Education, Professor TAHIR MAMMAN who disclosed this while briefing State House Correspondents alongside other ministers said this takes immediate effect.

According to him, the rationale for the Council’s decision was to allow for the efficient running of public educational institutions nationwide.

He also argued that the move is not connected to the integrity of IPPIS, the University Transparency and Accountability Solution, or other similar systems advocated by various bodies.
