The management of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has fined Gombe United Football Club over a fan’s alleged display of unruly conduct which disrupted a match with Kano Pillars on Sunday.
The fan allegedly pelted stones into the Pantami township stadium while the match was ongoing.
The management of Gombe United Football Club is expected to pay 7 million naira, with a one-match stadium ban to fans.
The NPFL also blamed the management of Gombe United for failing in its role to provide needed security for the guest players.
Similarly, Katsina United was found to have flouted a practice directive to clubs on dress codes for the Technical Crew and Players during their Matchday 11 fixture in Lagos against Sporting Lagos.
A Katsina United player wore a jersey that was inappropriately numbered and the NPFL has not only sanctioned the club but is also reporting the Match Officials to the Nigeria Football Federation for negligence of duty in allowing the player to come into the game on Sunday.
