The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has commended Nigerian workers for the success of the Day One of the ongoing nationwide strike.

In a circular to its affiliates and state councils, the NLC General Secretary, EMMA UGBOAJA appreciated and congratulated all Affiliates and State Councils for the great work in complying with the directive of the National Executive Council resolution to begin a nationwide strike yesterday.

He saluted the workers' firmness and determination in ensuring that workplaces were shut down completely and workers stayed at home.

According to him, the solidarity and singlemindedness in delivering on the resolutions have put a lie to those who want to see a contrary outcome and have thoroughly made a resounding statement around the nooks and crannies of the nation.

He urged the workers to brace up and make the strike more compelling today until the Government meets their demands.
