The Minister of State for Police Affairs, IMAAN SULAIMAN-IBRAHIM has expressed her commitment to the implementation of President BOLA TINUBU’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP security duties, among other “key mandates”.

SULAIMAN-IBRAHIM made the commitment during a two-day retreat for the directorate cadre in Abuja.

She added that the mandates are not mere tasks but transformative initiatives that could enhance internal security in Nigeria.

She also noted that the Nigeria Police Force and the Ministry of Police Affairs were at a critical juncture, and currently struggling with the consequences of decades of neglect that have hindered their ability to fulfil their constitutional mandate.
