The Lagos State Government has said it will ensure that the Imota Rice Mill in the Ikorodu area of the state and communities in its environs get a stable electricity supply to enhance the operations of the mill.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Mineral Resources, ABIOLA OLOWU, disclosed this during an inspection tour of some ongoing/completed electrification projects at Imota and the environs.
OLOWU said the state government had conceived and initiated some electrification projects towards proffering solutions to the inadequate supply of electricity to the mill.
He said the power problem would be resolved as soon as the upgrading of the existing network from the T-off junction to the transformer and the erection of high-tension reinforced concrete poles were completed.
While disclosing that the safety gadgets put in place to protect the rice mill were still intact, the Special Adviser maintained that the state government would ensure the full restoration and constant supply of power to the entire area.
