The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has said the process of obtaining a National Identification Number (NIN) is free at all centres across the country. 

The Commission advised members of the public to report any incident of extortion or any form of harassment during enrolment.

Acting Director-general/Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, ABISOYE COKER-ODUSOTE made this known in a statement issued in Abuja.

COKER-ODUSOTE said the Commission has a zero-tolerance policy for such misconduct, as it would not tolerate any act of extortion or harassment of citizens at enrolment centres.

The DG who hinted that the advice was in the aftermath of recent arrests, said those found engaged in such activities will face the full force of the law.
