Over 8,000 women, comprising professional athletes and avid runners, will participate in the eight Lagos Women Run on November 11, 2023.

Speaking at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, the convener, TAYO POPOOLA, said over 8,000 participants have registered for the race, including over 300 professional athletes, 10 clubs, as well as local elite athletes.

POPOOLA said while the race has been used to identify talents, network with women, and bring them together for positive purposes, this edition will focus on women's empowerment, where they will learn skills to boost their trade and businesses.

She added that women have done well in their contributions to Lagos State, which is why the government and organisers are using the race as a platform to recognise them.
