Supreme Court Dismisses Atiku, Obi’s Appeals, Affirms Tinubu As President

The Supreme Court upheld the victory of President BOLA TINUBU in the February 25 presidential election.

The apex court in its ruling dismissed the appeals by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart Peter Obi.

The Supreme Court has dismissed ATIKU ABUBAKAR’s plea to file fresh evidence against President Bola Tinubu.

Justice INYANG OKORO who delivered the verdict during the hearing of the appeals said the time frame to admit such evidence has elapsed.

He stated that since the 180 days had expired on September 17, the Supreme Court had no jurisdiction to admit the document.

On the petition seeking to nullify President TINUBU’s election on non-compliance with the electronic transmission of results, the Supreme Court ruled that When IREV fails, it does not stop the collation of results.

The Supreme Court also ruled that the non-function of IREV does not reduce voters’ confidence.
