The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has said plans have been concluded for the arraignment of 14 of its officers before a disciplinary panel over extortions and highhandedness.
LASTMA spokesperson, ADEBAYO TAOFIQ, made this known in a post on social media.
According to TAOFIQ, the affected officers whose cases have been investigated would be facing a government disciplinary committee which would judge their cases in line with the Public Service Rules.
He said the 14 male officers (11 Seniors and three Juniors) were caught at different locations across the state extorting money (bribes) from motorists.
He added that the agency would continue to handout stiff and severe punishment on officers and men in its effort to weed the agency of a few bad elements tarnishing its image.
