President BOLA TINUBU has appointed one-time Permanent Secretary of the State House, JALAL AHMAD ARABI as acting Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria for a term of four years in the first instance.
ARABI’s appointment followed President TINUBU’s directive of the outgoing Chairman of the Committee, ZIKRULLAH KUNLE HASSAN, to proceed on a three-month leave ahead of his retirement on January 17, 2024.
According to a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, AJURI NGELALE, the new Chairman will assume office in acting capacity on October 18, 2023, and will continue to serve in substantive capacity for a fresh term of four years, beginning on January 17, 2023.
President TINUBU also approved the dissolution of the HASSAN-led Board of the Commission.
