The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has disassociated itself from a social media report claiming that Abia State has been rated as the best-performing state in the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Nigerian school candidates.
WAEC spokesperson, MOYOSOLA ADESINA, in a statement, said that the publication is “far from the truth” and that the council does not rank the performance of states in its examinations.
ADESINA warned the public to disregard any media circulating the wrong information, describing them as mischievous platforms that trend on controversies with purely political intentions.
WAEC also noted that it has not decided on the best candidate(s) for the 2023 School Candidates and that any report to the contrary should be disregarded.
