The Lagos State Government has reopened five markets – Ladipo, Oyingbo, Alamutu, Ologede, and Ile Epo after they were closed down for various environmental offences.
Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, TOKUNBO WAHAB, made this known in a statement.
According to Wahab, the markets were re-opened following full compliance with requisite conditions.
Among the offences were reckless waste disposal, unhygienic premises, and non-payment of waste bills, among others.
He, however, warned that subsequent violations would attract permanent closure.
