As part of its mandate to get Nigerians covered in enduring universal health coverage, the leadership of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in Edo State has paid advocacy visits to top traditional rulers in Edo North Senatorial District.

Specifically the Acting State Coordinator NHIA, Theodore Ehannire and his team visited the palace of the Otaru of Igarra, His Royal Highness, Oba Emmanuel Adeche Saiki the second, and the Okuokphelagbe of Okpella, His Royal Majesty Zarki Yekini.

Both monarchs commended the NHIA for its commitment to ensuring that the federal government health coverage reaches the interior and that no one is left behind. 

They however urged the health agency to reactivate its Mutual Health Association in the community to liaise with available health facilities in their communities to ensure registration into the NHIA’s Group, Individual, Family, Social, Health, Insurance Program.
