Governor DAPO ABIODUN has directed the Bureau of Local Government Pensions to commence the immediate disbursement of one billion naira gratuity to both state and local government pensioners.

The Permanent Secretary of the bureau, OLUBUKOLA ADENIREGUN disclosed this when speaking with newsmen in her office in Abeokuta, the state capital.

According to her, the governor has given irrevocable approval for the prompt payment of monthly pensions to take effect before the salary of serving workers.

The Permanent Secretary added that the money is expected to be paid for three consecutive months at the initial instance.
