The Lagos State House of Assembly has called on the Ministry of Environment to commence the immediate clearing of drainage channels and canals across the state.
A lawmaker representing Alimosho Constituency 2, KEHINDE JOSEPH raised the issue at the House under ‘Matter of Urgent Public Importance’ at plenary.
KEHINDE JOSEPH said it is very important for the Ministry of Environment to immediately clear drainage channels and canals across Lagos due to the heavy rains in the state.
According to the lawmaker, heavy rains in Lagos state as predicted by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency have damaged some houses in his constituency.
He also called on the Ministry of Information to carry out the sensitization of Lagosians to stop the indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
