The Federal Government says Nigeria is gaining from its strategic foreign policy and is not under pressure to join the BRICS alliance. 

The government said Nigeria currently maintains very close relationships with each of the member-states in the alliance.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, said this while addressing reporters at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He said Nigeria’s diplomatic policy, which he described as Strategic Autonomy, gives the country the advantage of positive outlook with all countries.
