The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) says the process for the conduct of the September 2nd local government elections in the 18 council areas of Edo State will be done manually.

The Chairman of the Commission, retired Justice James Oyomire told representatives of political parties, the media and civil society groups at a stakeholders’ forum in Benin City that accreditation, voting, collation and announcement of results would be done manually.

Morris Osumili reports that the chairman also announced the restriction of movement on Election Day from 6am to 3pm.
