Environmental Activist and the Executive Director of Health of Mother Earth Foundation, Dr Nnimmo Bassey has warned that the creation of the ministry of gas resources, as well as that marine and blue economy is an invitation to further plunder and pollute the water ecosystem.

Dr Bassey cautioned that creating a Ministry of Gas Resources would only give license to the continuous gas emissions with attendant problems faced by communities. 

He noted that the ministry of gas will inexorably discourage the development of cleaner and more sustainable energy alternatives. 

According to him, developing the marine and blue economy sectors will lead to activities that are ecologically harmful. 

The Environmental Activist affirmed that finding the right balance between economic interests, environmental health, and social well-being is crucial.
