The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has declared that the pension system in the country, has failed to address the fears of Nigerian workers.
The NLC President, JOE AJAERO, disclosed this at the pension industry round-table, in Abuja.
The round-table was organized by the National Policy Advocacy Centre of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, in collaboration with the National Pension Commission.
In buttressing its claim, the NLC revealed that the inefficiencies in the system recently, led to the police seeking for it to speak for the exit of policemen from the country’s pension scheme.
The NLC President also pointed out that pensions were about the welfare of workers, when no longer needed in their places of work and urged that the issues be looked into.
