The Edo State Police command has arrested a suspect involving in a case of accusation of witchcraft, trial by ordeal, amongst other crimes.

In a statement signed by the PPRO, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, this follows a viral video making rounds on different social media platforms, where a 71 year-old woman, one Angelina Asekhamhe was attacked, beaten and termed a witch by some youths of the community where she resides.

He noted that the police has intensified efforts to arrest others involved in the act, especially the principal suspect, Fidelis Asekhamhe of Ivioghe village in Etsako East Local Government Area.

Fidelis had accused the victim of killing his son, attempting to kill him in his dream and mobilized the community youths who beat her up.
