The Nigeria police have advised citizens against deceptive vehicle auction scams by fraudsters who impersonate senior officers to dupe unsuspecting Nigerians.

Force Public Relations officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement, explained that scammers are using senior officers as a shield to dupe unsuspecting Nigerians.

The scammers pose as representatives of the police authority, to obtain financial contributions by using vehicle auctions and favours, including contracts from the NPF as baits.

He urged Nigerians to independently verify any information related to police activities, particularly vehicle auctions, through official communication channels.
