The Edo State House of Assembly has approved the request by Governor Godwin Obaseki to obtain a loan of 1.5 billion naira to finance the maintenance and rehabilitation of internal roads across the state.

Governor Obaseki made the request in a letter dated July 19, 2023, and addressed to the Speaker of the house.

The Speaker, Right Honourable Blessing Agbebaku and other lawmakers said it was timely and would help to reduce accidents in the state.

In another engagement, the house also considered a bill for a law to make provision against open defecation in Edo State.
