Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) Urge Resident To Shun Unhealthy Waste Dumping, Threatens Sanctions


The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has called residents to properly bag and contain refuse, including animal waste generated, to ensure a clean environment.


Executive Director, Finance, of LAWMA, KUNLE ADEBIYI, made the appeal in a statement made available by its Director, Public Affairs, KADIRI FOLASHADE.


KUNLE revealed that comprehensive measures have been put in place to ensure a clean and hygienic environment, adding that PSP operators had been assigned to work tirelessly to clean up and maintain a round-the-clock schedule.


He urged residents to shun waste dumping on roadside, canals, uncompleted buildings, and other unauthorized locations.


The LAWMA Executive Director, also appealed to motorists that ply the roads to drive with caution, to safeguard the lives of sanitation workers who clean the roads and highways.
