The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the 2023 general elections, Dumebi Kachikwu, has called on President Bola Tinubu to order a comprehensive audit of the activities of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited as well as the Nigeria Customs Service.

Kachikwu, who gave the charge in his Democracy Day broadcast, said the probe of the three institutions would not only unravel the level of abuse in the past few years but would also help the new administration to embark on reforms aimed at jump-starting the economy for the challenges ahead.

Although the ADC chieftain lauded the bold decision to announce the removal of subsidy on petrol, he faulted Tinubu’s failure to put in place adequate palliative measures to cushion the pain brought about by the hike in the pump price of petrol nationwide.
