The Federal Road Safety Corps says that over 40,000 people die annually as a result of road traffic crashes in the country.
Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu said this, during activities marking the 7th United Nations Global Road Safety Week in Abuja.
He said the facts were the statistics of Road Traffic Crashes and injuries which were a leading cause of death and disability.
According to him, there is no greater threat to people, aged 5-29 years than Road Traffic Crashes, as one in every four deaths occurs among pedestrians and cyclists.
