Residents of Benin metropolis can now hive a sigh of relief following the arrest of 15 suspects for economic sabotage, stealing, cultism, armed robbery, and car snatching.

Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor said the arrests followed the marching order given by the commissioner of police, CP Mohammed Dankwara to rid the state of criminals.

He said operatives of the New Benin Division, Operatives of anti-kidnapping and cyber crime unit and Operatives of crack team of the command were involved in the operations.

Some of the arrested persons explained their level of involvement in the crimes they were arrested for.

Items recovered from the suspects included armoured cable, a C300 Mercedes Benz car and army uniforms.
