The Edo state House of Assembly has considered the report of its standing committee on Oil, Mining and Gas in a Petition Titled: Save Edo Land from being ceded to Delta by the Dubious Acts of SEPLAT Petroleum Development Company PLC.
Findings from the committee’s report indicated that Orogho Community is situated at the boundary between Orhionmwon in Edo State and Ethiope in Delta State.
A total of nine oil wells are situated in the community, the ownership of four of the wells are undisputed, three are subject of disputes while two are currently not drilled.
Chairman of the Standing Committee, Nosayaba Okunbor said the report submitted on the 11th of April was followed by a tripartite meeting of stakeholders.
The committee resolved that the report be stepped down for harmonization.
