The Edo State Government has begun the process of reclaiming its Forest and Games Reserve from criminal elements who have been using the facilities as hideouts.
Governor Godwin Obaseki told journalists that a three month intensive combing of forests is set to commence to flush out these criminal elements.
He said the state police command, forest rangers and the army will conduct this exercise in Okomu Forest, Gelegele Forest and Okomu National Park.
The governor also asked the security agencies to apprehend any one found logging in the forest during the operation.
