The Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalist has called for an end to casualization of journalists working in their media organizations in the state.

The Chairman, Comrade Festus Alekhen made the call in a statement while celebrating journalists in Edo State on the occasion of this year's Workers' Day.

He noted that the practice of casualizing journalists does not reflect their significance in the country.

He therefore appealed to media owners to confirm the employment of journalists in their organizations.
